A 12th name has emerged as a Clare Candidate for the General Election.

Gerry Walshe is a 47 year old electrician from Kilkee but is now embarking on a political career in the shape of what he and other candidates across Ireland are calling the New Ireland Independent Alliance

His group is hoping to offer sweeping changes of Ireland’s political system and a move away from what he describes as the corruption of the past.

Gerry Walshe says his main election issues will be his opposition of the IMF Bailout, concerns for Shannon airport services, and his belief that government representatives failed the people of Clare regarding Ennis General Hospital.
