The founder of an animal rescue shelter is appealing to people in Clare to consider adopting rescue hens this weekend.
Littlehill Animal Rescue is bringing hundreds of the birds to Clare on Saturday, seeking good homes for them and will be stopping in Newmarket-on-Fergus, Miltown Malbay and Ennistymon.
The hens have been rescued from a farm that would otherwise be sending them to the slaughterhouse.
