Angry Reaction To Decision Not To Fund Carrigaholt Gaeltacht

There’s been an angry reaction to a decision of the Minister for the Gaeltacht not to fund a development project for the Irish college in Carrigaholt.

Over two million euro had been sought for large-scale works at Coláiste Uí Chomhraidhe, but backers of the project believe the initiative could play a huge part in driving cultural tourism on the Loop Head Penninsula.

However, their call has fallen on deaf ears, with Junior Minister Seán Kyne telling the Dáil that the government won’t fund the works because the collage isn’t located in a Gaeltacht.
