An Bord Pleanála has refused permission for a whiskey storage facility in North Clare.
The Chapel Gate Irish Whiskey Company applied to construct a maturation rackhouse on a 1.3 hectare site in Doonagore, Doolin.

Clare County Council was first to turn the application down last May, stating that the road network serving the site was poor and that the development may impact the visual amenity of the landscape and Cliffs of Moher Special Protection Area.
The decision was appealed less than a month later, but this week An Bord Pleanála has ruled to uphold it for the same reasons.
