Amnesty International’s annual human rights report says there was a failure of leadership from local and international authorities worldwide last year.

The human rights organisation is accusing the UN Security Council in particular of failing to go beyond "selfish political interests" in preventing human rights violations.
Amnesty International Ireland meanwhile, is calling on the Irish government to use the Constitutional Convention as an opportunity to change the constitution and protect human rights here.
