American Beef Market Opens to Ireland

A Clare Farming representative says he's hopeful today's opening of the American Market to Irish beef will lead to better prices here. 

For the first time in 15 years, since the BSE crisis, Irish beef is going on shelves at US retailers.

The Minister for Agriculture has travelled to America for a tour to promote the product, while Bord Bia is to unveil a new marketing campaign in hopes of creating a demand. 

General Secretary of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association is Cratloe Farmer Eddie Punch, he's been welcoming the development.
