Clare’s Fianna Fail TD believes a potential move by Amazon to locate a key facility at Shannon Airport would provide significant benefits for the region as a whole, if it comes to fruition.
The US multinational is reportedly in talks with Shannon Group about the possibility of locating a distribution facility and other infrastructure at the Airport.
Amazon recorded increased profits of 6.3 billion US dollars in the final quarter of last year, as more and more people turned to online shopping during the coronavirus pandemic.
