Killaloe Diocesan officials have not ruled out the possibility of it’s amalgamation as part of a reconfiguration of the church in Ireland.
The findings of the Apostolic Visitation in Ireland, published yesterday, questions the present configuration of here, and there have been suggestions that the Killaloe diocese could be among those set to change, perhaps joining up with Galway.

Speaking to Clare FM today, Diocesan spokesman Fr. Brendan Quinlivan admitted that such a move is possible, though he expressed his hope that it would not occur without extensive consultations with parishioners.
