Alternative Venue Not Possible For Inis Fest

An organiser of the now-cancelled Inis Fest says the threat of legal action against the event prompted their decision to scrap it.

The three-day music festival was due to take place at Tim Smythe Park in June, but the plug was pulled on Friday in light of a row with residents.

They'd expressed concerns over a potential spike in anti-social behaviour, and no agreement was found despite two public meetings.

A local resident, meanwhile, says she’s disappointed.

However Cadhla Brock has told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that she feels the venue wasn’t suitable, while she’s also criticised what she regards as a lack of communication from organisers.
