Clare has been granted almost €800,000 in funding for upgrade works on rural roads and laneways.
The funding has been announced this morning by Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys under the Local Improvement Scheme.

€16 million in total has been allocated nationwide under the scheme with the Banner County receiving €770,000 and all other counties except Dublin and Kildare receiving an allocation.
The Department of Rural and Community Development has said that the funding will be used for the improvement of non-public roads and lanes that are not normally maintained by local authorities.
