Almost €1 million paid out for Clare workplace injuries

Nearly 1 million euro was paid out to Clare claimants following workplace accidents last year.

The Injuries Board have publishe dfigures showing that 23 claimants shared just over 930 thousand euro, with an average award of over 40 thosuand euro each.

Nationally, compensation of 24 million euro was paid out in respect of 826 claims for workplace accidents last year, up two million on 2012.

Slip, trips and falls were the most common type of accident while Thursday was the most likely day of the week for an accident to occur.
