There has been a near 70% increase in the number of businesses being registered each year in Clare since 2021.
New data from the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment show 365 new businesses were formed in this county in 2025.
The research measures the number of businesses that were incorporated each year, which means the company becomes a separate legal entity from the owners.
The figures released to Bodyke Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney show an increase of 68% from the 217 new businesses that were registered in 2021.
Last year was a particularly strong year for business incorporation in Clare, with a 46% surge in new companies operating here in comparison to the year previous.
Over the five year period since 2021, there has been an upwards trend in new companies forming in Clare each year, with the exception of 2024.
New incorporations took a slight dip from 268 in 2023 to 250 in 2024, before the large surge that was seen across the county last year.
Of the companies operational in Clare, 94 are clients of Enterprise Ireland, with 5,642 people employed across the county by these businesses.
