Nearly 300 homeless people have presented themselves to Clare County Council in the past year.
The Council has said that 59 of those were placed in emergency accomodation such as B&Bs or hotels, sometimes for several months.

39 were referred to the Laurel Lodge Hostel for men while the remainder were not placed for a variety reasons, and the Council says they would have been accomodated by family or friends.
