285 burglaries were reported in the Clare Garda Division in the first nine months of this year.

Figures revealed at the Joint Policing Committee meeting show an increase of 28 on the same time last year, while break-ins to cars were up 73, with 252 thefts reported in the same period.
But despite the spike in crime the head of the Clare Garda Division says there’s been a 22 per cent reduction in crime in the county over the past five years.
Chief Superintendent John Kerin insists that progress is being made in catching those responsible.
