The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has spiralled once again.
The Irish, Nurses & Midwives Organisation recorded 98 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, 48 of those in the Emergency Department alone.

It’s 56 more than the next busiest facility; Sligo University Hospital.
It comes on a day when 414 admitted patients were waiting for a hospital bed nationwide.
