All Clear For Clare’s Water

Clare has been adjudged to have fared well in a new report on water standards by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The study which shows the banner county had a 100 per cent microbiological compliance rate for a third successive year in 2012.

The Provision and Quality of Drinking Water in Ireland report by the EPA analyses over 250,000 Water Services Authority results for all drinking water supplies.

The recent study lists Clare’s chemical compliance levels at 99.2 per cent. This is one of the highest rates seen across the country.

The data also featured a summary of boil water notices and water restriction notices active or issued by Clare County Council during 2012.

Again the county had good results in this area, with only one water restriction notice, affecting approximately 80 customers of the Ennis Public Water Supply, remaining active at the end of 2012 while no new boil water notices were issued last year.
