Aldi Appeal An Bord Pleanala Decision Against Extended Ennistymon Opening Hours

Aldi’s application to extend opening hours at its Ennistymon store has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala.

The supermarket giant had made an application to Clare County Council to open for longer on Sundays and Bank Holidays, and in August was given the green light to trade for an extra three hours on those days.

That’s despite two objections to the plan – one from former Clare Mayor Flan Garvey, and the other from local resident Brendan Garrihy, who said late night supermarket activity would lead to additional noise, and that he has already been greatly impacted by the development.
