Several airlines are set to be briefed this afternoon on the nature of the security problems at Dublin Airport.
A major EU security audit at the airport uncovered serious issues with what’s understood to be checks on goods brought on board aircraft by crew and suppliers of airlines.
Aer Lingus and Ryanair are among the airlines set to be briefed on the matter at the National Civil Aviation Security Committee this afternoon.
The DAA has declined to comment on whether similar problems would have been found if Shannon and Cork had been subject to the same audit as Dublin.
