Ahern Calls Brexit Border Issue A “Nightmare”

Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has called the border issue thrown up by Brexit a “nightmare” for Ireland.

He says that Britian leaving the customs union makes the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic the natural border between the EU and the UK.

But Mr Ahern added that the potential solutions of a united Ireland or the Republic leaving the EU are not on the cards
