IFA Claims Farmers Losing “Up To €6m Weekly” As Blockades Continue

Clare’s IFA Livestock Chair insists Irish beef farmers are losing out on up to €6 million every week as they grapple with plummeting prices.

The Irish Farmers’ Association is blockading a Lidl distribution centre in Charleville in Cork today, after a 12-hour demonstration at Aldi’s Naas centre yesterday, in a dispute over the price they’re receiving for their produce.

Farmers here are earning an average of 44c less per kilo, when compared to their counterparts across the border in Northern Ireland.
