Flood-Hit Farmers Said To Be Selling Off Livestock

Some Clare farmers whose land has been hit with floods are being forced to sell off livestock as they have no available land to keep them on.

Many parts of the county are continuing to grapple with flooding issues, particularly in communities along the River Shannon, where the worst of the floods have been experienced.

The IFA is calling for long-term measures to be examined to ensure that this doesn’t happen again, and Teagasc advisor Pat Clarke says it’s been a disastrous month for the sector.
