Cratloe Farmer Calls On Fianna Fail And Fine Gael To Clarify Allegiance To Rural Ireland

A Cratloe farmer is calling on Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael to clarify their allegiance to rural Ireland after the Green Party Leader confirmed a cut to the national herd would be introduced.

Minister for the Environment Eamon Ryan is adamant that a reduction in the herd number will be necessary to meet carbon emission targets.

Minister Ryan and Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue will this week decide upon the emission target that will be imposed upon the agriculture sector – with Ryan pushing for a 30% cut and McConalogue arguing for a 22% reduction.
