A Newmarket-on-Fergus based agriculture solicitor says the revamped Fair Deal Scheme won’t change things too much.

This week has seen new rules unveiled by the government on how farmers and business owners can qualify for the Fair Deal Scheme to pay for nursing home care.

Though their assets will now be protected, the rules mean the heir of those going into care must stay on at the farm or business for six years after the person enters the nursing home.
