Clare IFOI Rep Accuses Agriculture Dept Of ‘Defecating All Over Farmers’ Ahead Of Meeting On Food Security

The Chair of the Independent Farmers Of Ireland has accused the Department and Minister for Agriculture of ‘defecating all over farmers’ amid calls for the sector to grow crops.

Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue is meeting a number of farming organisations today to discuss food security following escalating violence in Ukraine.

Ireland imports approximately 60% of the grain used here each year, with Russia and Ukraine both key international exporters of cereal crops.
