The Clare Chair of the IFA is pressing the importance of both long and short term solutions to the county’s flooding issues.
It comes ahead of a meeting on Monday, in which the Clare branch of the IFA is holding a climate change debate, with severe flooding continuing to cause concern in some parts.
The association is warning that these issues are putting a severe strain on farmers finances and their well-being.
Parteen farmer Tom Lane says a solution needs to be rolled out as a matter of urgency:
That one takes place in the West County Hotel on Monday evening from 8pm, while at 7pm that same evening a separate climate change and agriculture discussion will be held in the Old Ground Hotel from 7pm.
