Clare Farmer Says New CAP Grant Presenting A ‘Problem’ For Farmers Here

The Clare-based General Secretary of the ICSA says a new grant scheme arising from the Common Agricultural Policy will present a ‘problem’ for many farmers here.

The Agri-Environment Climate Measure will see farmers in designated ‘high nature value’ areas able to apply for up to €10,500, with farmers outside of those regions given a limit of €7,000.

While most areas around North Clare and the Burren are included, there are parts of the West and South East of the county where the higher rate for farmers won’t be applicable.
