Claims Beef Task Force Made ‘Significant Progress’ Dismissed By Clare’s ICSA General Secretary

The Clare-based General Secretary of the ICSA claims farmers wouldn’t agree with reports that the Beef Task Force has made ‘significant progress’.

The Beef Market Taskforce’s report is being prepared for Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue, with the Oireachtas committee yesterday hearing that only 8 of the 38 ‘actions’ agreed nearly two years ago are still outstanding.

However, Cratloe farmer and member of the task force, Eddie Punch, insists that transparency within the beef sector still hasn’t been achieved.
