Shannon gardaí are investigating a serious assault in which a young man was hospitalised.
The victim was walking in Delacey Park at around 8.30 on Sunday evening when he was struck with an unidentified weapon.

He suffered a broken collarbone and was rushed to Limerick University Hospital were he also received several stitches for a number of lacerations to his head.
Gardaí believe robbery was the motive but the culprit described as being short and wearing a dark hoddie only escaped with the victim’s cigarettes.
