After Hours GP Service Reportedly “Non-Existent” In East Clare

There’s a call for an an after hours GP service in East Clare amid claims the service is “non-existent” there.

The Friends of Ennis Hospital Campaign has published the results of a survey it conducted from December 29th to January 6th which found that 51% of Midwest patients surveyed went to their pharmacy before any other service over the period.

Of the respondents who attended University Hospital Limerick, 40% rated it as “excellent”, with just 13% deeming the experience “very poor”.

Friends of Ennis Hospital Chairperson Angela Coll has been telling Clare FM’s Séan Lyons a key finding was that many in the east of the county are forced to go to Limerick or Tipperary if they require a GP out of hours.
