Aer Lingus Shareholders Vote In Favour Of IAG Takeover Bid

Aer Lingus shareholders have voted in favour of four resolutions which approve IAG's takeover bid.

Shareholders met to vote on connectivity guarantees and the Government's 'B share' at an EGM in Dublin today.

It's about six months now since IAG's interest in Aer Lingus was first reported – which came ahead of several protests and debates about job cuts and connectivity arrangements.

Aer Lingus Chairman Colm Barrington says those concerns will be proven to be misguided. 

Ahead of the Aer Lingus Vote on IAG,  a Clare Senator indicated he's satisfied that the latest takeover bid  will benefit Shannon Airport in the long run.

Fine Gael's Tony Mulcahy told Clare FM that critical aspects of the deal have now been addressed.
