While there’s good news for Shannon Airport with the Ryanair routes, it’s emerged that Aer Lingus is to close its cabin crew base there.

Almost 90 staff are currently employed in the facility, which the airline says is no longer commercially viable.
Some of them at least may be redeployed to other Aer Lingus operations. The base is due to close next March.
