Aer Lingus says its future in Cork and Shannon airports remains “under review” following reports it plans to cut routes this winter.

The Business Post reports bosses at the airline are frustrated with the government’s handling of air travel during the pandemic.

There are fears a further lockdown would severely limit activity in Cork and Limerick until the spring.

In a statement, a spokesperson says “international travel can — and must — be safely increased” to secure the future of the aviation industry here — and the Irish economy.
