IAG representatives will meet with the Government's steering group today, and Transport Minister Paschal Donohue is expected to issue a statement afterwards.

Meanwhile, opposition to IAG's Aer Lingus takeover seems to be strong in Clare.

A poll of over 530 visitors to the clare.fm website has found that 66% of people think the government should reject the bid, which has been described as a potential blow for Shannon Airport.

Just 27% of those who took part in the poll feel the deal should go through, while the remainder of those who voted say they didn't know.
