Aer Lingus Deal Catastrophic For Shannon

Clare's Michael McNamara is hoping to remain on as a member of Labour despite being expelled from the parliamnetary party.

Meanwhile, a former Mayor of Clare and long-standing Sahnnon Councillor says she doesn't agree with selling the shares either.

Patricia Mc Carthy feels the sale is reminiscent of what happened when Heathrow slots were removed from Shannon in 2007, and is fearful that selling the shares opens the door for another blow to the local economy.

Speaking on Clare FM's Morning Focus Patricia McCarthy said that while guarantees have been given, she fears that IAG cannot be trusted to protect Shannon.
