The Sinn Fein President says the government has an insulting view of lone parents.

He was speaking in the Dáil last night on a Private Members Motion opposing changes to the One Parent Family Payment, which come into effect today.
The changes will reduce the amount of money received by single parents whose youngest child is over the age of seven, and the government says the move is aimed at reducing welfare dependency.
There are over 4,600 single parent families here in Clare alone and Gerry Adams says single parents are being forced into work or training.
