Active Retirement Ireland Concerned Over Impact Of Gas Price Hikes On Pensioners

The Shannon-based President of Active Retirement Ireland is expressing serious concern over the impact of price hikes to household energy on older people.

Flogas is the fifth energy provider in the space of a month to raise its prices – from December, their customers will be paying 3.3 percent extra, which equates to over €20 a year.

Figures show three in five Irish households were forced to borrow to meet the costs of essential bills last year.
