It’s claimed the actions of a small number of people visiting one of Clare’s scenic spots is ruining the experience for countless others.
Alan Coote, who runs water activity company Ballyalla Lake Kayaking , has captured a video of mounds of rubbish he collected at the popular amenity, after groups of people congregated there the night before.

He says it’s fast becoming a regular occurrence and that people are leaving behind considerable quantities of items such as takeaway cups and fast food wrappers.
Alan Coote believes there’s sufficient disposal facilities in the area and that there’s really no excuse for anyone to leave their waste behind.
