Major Water Works To Commence In West Clare Today

A major water infrastructure upgrade will commence in a West Clare village today.

Uisce Éireann will be replacing 800m of aged water mains along the R483 in Alva, Creegh as part of the National Leakage Reduction Programme.

A traffic management system in the form of temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the works.

Uisce Éireann Programme Manager Jack Cronin is hopeful it will bring legacy water outages in the area to an end.

“Leakage reduction remains a notable priority for the banner county and replacing these old water mains that are in poor condition will ensure a more sustainable water supply, eliminate existing leaks, and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground, protecting our most precious resource.

“We would like to thank the local community for their support and patience in advance as we carry out these essential works.”
