One third of garda stations are staffed by just one garda – according to new figures.

The Irish Examiner reports that 205 stations most of which are in small villages, out of some 600 nationwide, only have one garda.
Another 40 stations are without a permanent garda – while 88 stations have just two gardaí
It’s expected that there’ll be further station closures next year including several in County Clare.
