The number of people waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital is continuing to climb.
The latest figures from the INMO show there were 98 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 51 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 44 more than the next busiest facility; University Hospital Galway.
It follows the publication of the INMO’s trolleywatch analysis this week which shows overcrowding levels at the region’s main hospital are now 65 percent higher than they were before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
