Overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains extremely high today.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s reporting 96 people were waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, down from 109 yesterday.

45 patients are in the emergency department, with a further 51 in overflow areas of wards.
It comes on a day when 663 people are waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
