The number of people waiting on trolleys at the regions main hospital has more than doubled in the space of a week.
96 Patients were waiting on trolleys this morning at University Hospital Limerick including 55 in the Emergency Department according to the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation.

In comparison just 43 patients were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick on this day last week.
Cork University Hospital was the next busiest facility in the country with a total of 79 patients waiting on trolleys.
In total 631 Patients are without a bed at hospitals nationwide with over 15% of this cohort presenting at the Dooradoyle facility.
