93 On Trolleys At Region’s Main Hospital

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to rise.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 93 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 52 of those on trolleys in the ED.

The overall figure is 19 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when there were 634 patients waiting for beds at hosptials across the country.
