Over 92 percent of people aged over 12 in Clare are considered ‘fully vaccinated’.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the number of 5 to 11 year olds in this county who’ve received jabs is much lower, however.
The CSO’s data shows as of last month, the Kilrush electoral area has the most vaccinated people aged 12 or over in Clare, at 96 percent.
Both the Ennis electoral area and the Killaloe electoral area stand at 92 percent, with Ennistymon and Shannon coming in at 91 percent.
Around 1 in 10 people in Clare have had a second additional dose of a vaccine on top of their initial jabs, including those considered immunocompromised.
However, the numbers of 5 to 11 year olds considered fully vaccinated is just a fraction of those figures.
There’s a marked difference in electoral area as well, with nearly one in four 5 to 11 year old’s in East Clare fully jabbed, as well as 22 percent in Shannon.
The figure stands at 21 percent in Ennis, through drops to just 15 percent in West Clare, and 14 percent in the Ennistymon electoral area.
