Over 90% of the horses seized in Clare in the past four years were euthanised.
New figures released to the Dáil show that 140 horses were seized in this county between 2013 and 2016.

Of these, 127 were euthanised and none were re-homed. The figures do not specify what happened to the other 13.
Clare is one of only two counties where no horses were re-homed during that time frame.
The Council received nearly 110 thousand euro in government funding to support its work in this area, although the majority of that came in 2013.
