90 Adults Remain In Emergency Homeless Accommodation In Clare

The number of adults living in Emergency Accommodation in Clare dropped marginally last month.

However the Government’s latest report shows that homelessness in the MidWest is still on the rise.

The Department of Housing’s homeless report for March shows that 605 adults and 225 children are homeless across Clare and Limerick.

It’s just five more than the 824 recorded living in emergency accommodation in the MidWest from the previous month.

At the end of March, 90 adults were recorded as homeless in Clare, which is 7 fewer than February’s total.

However, it’s still 12.5% above the number of adults living in emergency accommodation here last year.

While the number of children recorded as homeless in the MidWest is now up 40% on March 2024.

More than 12.5% of adults currently accessing emergency accommodation in the region are from outside the European Union and the UK, 78% are Irish , while just over 9% are from within the EU or UK.
