A 9-year old boy from Corofin has been hailed as a hero after donating bone marrow to his twin sister.

Shona O'Donovan was diagnosed with aplastic anemia after her parents became concerned about bruises covering her body, and tests later showed that sibling bone marrow transplant was the only way forward.
Her twin brother Caoimhín stepped forward, and he has now been given a Pride of Ireland award at a ceremony in Dublin last week
Their Dad Kevin says it was a very difficult time for the family.
