There’s been a significant spike in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital once again today.
The latest figures from the INMO shows 89 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 50 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is a jump of 26 on yesterday’s figure and is three dozen higher than the next busiest facility.
Today marks exactly one week since the Dooradoyle facility recorded the highest trolley numbers of any hospital in the country since records began.
