Overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is high as the week begins.
84 patients were waiting for a bed during morning rounds at University Hospital Limerick according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

40 of these patients are in UHL’s emergency department, with the other 44 located in overflow areas of wards.
It comes on a day when a total of 575 people are waiting for beds at hospitals nationwide.
