82% of Clare children have not completed the primary course of Covid-19 vaccines.
New CSO data shows five to eleven year olds in the county have a primary course completion rate of just 18%.
The rate of five to eleven year olds who have completed the primary course of vaccines remains low nationwide.
89% of children who have received a Covid-19 vaccine have not received a dose within the last 12 months.
In Clare, the Killaloe area has the highest primary course completed rate for children aged five to eleven, at 22%.
Ennis and Shannon closely follow at 21% a piece while Ennistymon and Kilrush lag behind with each at 13%.
Moving to adults, just 9% of adults in Clare have had their third booster with Ennistymon having the highest uptake rate at 10% and Killaloe and Ennis having the joint lowest at 8% each.
It should be noted however that this booster was only available to people aged 65 years and older, people aged 12 or older with a weak immune system and people between the ages of 12 and 64 with an underlying condition.
Clare’s uptake rate for booster four, which is only available to people aged 70 years and older and those aged 12 or older with a weak immune system, is currently at 2%.
The CSO data shows just 52% of accommodation and food employees have received a booster but this number is 96% for all Irish employees.
